Reading a schema, drawing it and exporting the picture are free and always will be. The one thing that costs money is the part people pay other tools thousands a year for: the whole schema, however large, and the data dictionary that documents it. That is $9 once — not a month, not a seat, not a trial.

What “lifetime” means here
One payment, no renewal, no expiry date. A license already bought is never turned into a subscription and never downgraded, and later price rises do not reach back to it. What we cannot honestly promise is that a website runs forever — so the licensed features are the ones that exist when you buy, and the tool keeps working offline once your browser has been unlocked, because the key is verified there rather than by us.
What the license is not
It does not connect to a live database — you export the schema yourself and paste it, which is the same reason the schema never leaves your machine. It is not a metadata platform: there is no hosted repository, no lineage, no business glossary, no team accounts or permissions — there are no accounts at all, which is the same reason there is nothing to renew and nothing to provision or administer. And support is one person reading hello@erddocs.com: no service desk and no response-time promise, but also no ticket queue between you and the person who builds it.
Payment, tax and refunds
Orders are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record: you buy from Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd or its local entity, which is also the name on your statement) and we license the software to you. Paddle takes the payment, adds VAT or sales tax where your country requires it, shows the total before you confirm, and issues the invoice. Prices on this page exclude tax. We never see or store card details.
If it turns out not to be what you needed, write within 14 days and we refund it, no questions asked — the full policy is on the Refunds page, and the Terms cover the rest.
Questions people ask before paying
Is there a subscription?
No. $9 is paid once and the license does not expire or renew. There is no plan to move to, nothing to cancel, and no card kept on file with us — the payment processor does not even hand us one.
What happens to my license when the price goes up?
Nothing. The price is an introductory one and will rise, but a license already bought is never converted into a subscription, downgraded, or re-priced. What you buy is the version of the deal you bought it under.
Do I need an account?
There is no account to make. After payment you receive a signed license key by email; pasting it into the tool unlocks that browser, and your browser verifies the signature locally — so unlocking keeps working offline and would survive our servers going away.
Can I use it on more than one machine?
Yes — the key is yours, so activate it in the browsers you work in. It carries the email it was issued to, which is also why publishing it publishes your own address. Lost keys are re-issued free to the email on the order.
Is there a free trial?
The free tier is the trial, and it does not end: schemas up to 25 tables render in full, forever, without a card. Larger schemas are parsed completely as well — the tables past the limit appear as locked placeholders, so you can see the shape of what a license would show you before paying for it.
