ErdDocs is a browser tool that turns a pasted database schema into an ER diagram and a data dictionary. It is operated by Oleksandr Miadelets, trading as ErdDocs (“we”, “us”). Using the site means accepting these terms; buying a license also means accepting the Refund policy. Writing to hello@erddocs.com reaches a person.

1. The free tool

Reading a schema, drawing it, and exporting the picture are free and need no account. Schemas up to 25 tables render in full; larger schemas are parsed completely, and the tables beyond the limit appear as locked placeholders until a license is activated. Nothing about the free tier expires, and we do not email you for using it.

2. The lifetime license

One payment unlocks the whole schema, the data dictionary, and exports without our branding. “Lifetime” means there is no renewal and no expiry date: a license already bought is never converted into a subscription and never downgraded, and later price rises do not touch it. What we cannot honestly promise is that a website runs forever — so the licensed features are the ones that exist when you buy, and the tool keeps working offline once your browser has been unlocked.

3. Payment and the merchant of record

Orders are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record: you buy the product from Paddle, and we license it to you. Depending on where you buy, the contracting entity is Paddle.com Inc. (United States), Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. (Canada), or Paddle.com Market Ltd(everywhere else) — that is also the name your card statement will show. Prices on this site exclude tax: Paddle adds VAT or sales tax where your country requires it and shows the total before you confirm the payment. Paddle issues the invoice, and its buyer terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your card details.

4. Your license key

There is no account to log into. After payment you receive a signed license key, which your browser verifies locally — so unlocking works without us, and keeps working if our servers do not. The key is for you: use it on the machines you work on. It carries the email it was issued to, so publishing or reselling it publishes your own address. Lost keys are re-issued free to the email on the order.

5. Your schema stays yours

We claim no rights over the schema you paste or over anything the tool produces from it. The diagrams, dictionaries and exports are yours, including for commercial work and for documents you hand to clients. Parsing runs in your browser, so in the ordinary course we never receive the schema at all — see the Privacy policy.

6. What we ask you not to do

Do not resell or rebrand the service as your own, work around the free limit rather than buying a license, attack or overload the site, or use it for anything unlawful. We may withdraw a license that was obtained fraudulently or charged back, and we will say why.

7. Availability and warranty

The site is provided as is, without an uptime guarantee. The tool reads real dumps written by many tools and dialects, and it will sometimes read one imperfectly: a generated data dictionary is our reading of your schema, not a certified audit, so check it before relying on it for compliance or migration work. Reports of a misread schema are welcome and get fixed — they are how the parser improves.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything connected with ErdDocs is limited to what you paid us. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited — consumer rights in particular, including the refund rights described in the Refund policy.

9. Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them. A change never applies retroactively to a license already bought. If you disagree with a change, stop using the site — and if the change is why, write to us and we will talk about a refund even outside the window.
